Admissions

Come for a Visit!

Thomas Aquinas College is indeed unique, one of a kind in America. We invite all prospective applicants to consider visiting the College to see classes firsthand, meet with students and tutors, stay a night or two in a dorm, and live the life of the College for a few days as our guest.

To set up a visit, please either email us at admissions@thomasaquinas.edu, fill out our online Visit Request Form, or call the Admissions Office at 800-634-9797. We look forward to hearing from you!

Admission requirements

Thomas Aquinas College has a rolling admissions policy: as soon as an application is complete, it is placed in line for consideration by the Admissions Committee. Prospective students are eligible to begin applications after they have completed their junior year of high school studies.

Acceptance remains provisional until after the College has received and reviewed the applicant's signed Payment Plan and Promissory Note, a satisfactory transcript of grades through the second semester of the senior year in high school and health and registration information.

An application form and letters of reference forms are attached within the College's Bulletin of Information, a copy of which is available on request. It is not necessary that all parts of an application be submitted at the same time.

Applicants who are accepted after the class has been filled are placed on a waiting list. Experience shows that many students who are placed on the waiting list stand a very good chance of being offered a place in the class.

Thomas Aquinas College admits as regular students only individuals who have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent, or are beyond the age of compulsory education in California.

Complete applications include:

  • Application form and essay responses to questions posed on the application;
  • Three letters of reference (at least two of which are to be written by recent teachers or people who have known you in an academic setting);
  • Transcripts of high school (and college studies, if applicable);
  • Results of the SAT or the ACT (the SAT Critical Reading scores of accepted students generally range from 580 to 800 and Mathematics scores range from 520 to 800; composite ACT scores generally range from 22 to 36). When requesting scores to be sent to Thomas Aquinas College, use CB code number 4828 or ACT code number 0425.
  • There is no application fee.

The breadth of the application allows students to express their academic interests and strengths. It also enables the Admissions Committee to evaluate an applicant's potential for success in the program. Personal or telephone interviews may also be required by the Admissions Committee.

The Admissions Committee will act upon applications submitted by high school students as early as the middle of the first semester of the senior year. A final transcript of high school studies must be submitted as soon as possible after graduation and will complete the application records. Applicants who have undertaken college-level studies elsewhere before applying for admission to Thomas Aquinas College should submit transcripts of these studies as well as their high school transcripts.
