Hewitt to Come to College on Feb.

Nationally
syndicated talk host Hugh Hewitt will broadcast his
three-hour radio program from Thomas Aquinas College on
Friday, February 10 (3:00 - 6:00 p.m., PST). During that
time the author, law professor, and popular commentator
plans to interview President Michael F. McLean, other
members of the teaching faculty, and various
students.

WEST COAST Students
Make Annual Trek to San Francisco
More
than 200 Thomas Aquinas College students helped lead the
way through the streets of San Francisco on January 21,
2012 — in remembrance of the 39th anniversary of Roe
v. Wade — for the eighth annual Walk for Life West
Coast. The students prayed, sang, and peacefully bore
witness to the Culture of Life with some 50,000
participants.

THE CELEBRATION Judge
Holmes Keynotes Commemoration of 40th Anniversary for
Students & Faculty
On
January 28, 2012 — the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas
— the College held a campus celebration to mark its
40th anniversary. The event began with a Mass in Our
Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, followed by a
reception in St. Bernadine of Siena Library. The
celebration then continued with an all-school dinner in
St. Joseph Commons featuring a distinguished guest
speaker with deep ties to the College, the Hon. J. Leon
Holmes, United States District Judge for the Eastern
District of Arkansas.

Applaud College’s Protest of Contraceptive
Mandate
Thomas
Aquinas College President Michael F. McLean has received
strong support from the College’s friends and
benefactors for his letter protesting the Obama
Administration’s decision to require that coverage for
sterilization, abortifacients, and contraception be
included in virtually all health plans. The letter,
dated January 30, was addressed to California’s two U.S.
senators, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Sen. Barbara Boxer,
and the College’s local congressman, Rep. Elton
Gallegly.

Thomas
Aquinas College will host a reception in San Francisco
reception on March 14 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of
its beloved head chaplain, Rev. Cornelius M. Buckley,
S.J. … Mother Mary Assumpta Long, O.P., prioress general
of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the
Eucharist, in Ann Arbor, Mich., will serve as the
College’s Commencement Speaker on May 12. … The sixth
annual Thomas Aquinas College Golf Classic will take
place on May 21 at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand
Oaks, Calif. … From July 22 to August 4, 2012, rising
high school seniors are encouraged to come participate
in the College’s High School Summer Program.
