The Toby Caplan-Stonefield Flute Trio To Perform At Thomas Aquinas College

(September 10, 2002)

Renowned flutist Toby Caplan-Stonefield, and her cellist and pianist accompaniments, will perform a selection of classical pieces at the campus of Thomas Aquinas College on Friday, September 27, 2002. The concert will include works by C.P.E. Bach, Mozart, Godard, Poulenc, and Saint-Saens, among others.

Ms. Caplan-Stonefield became a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of twenty, and has played under the direction of more than thirty of the world’s greatest conductors. Since then, she has been in numerous orchestras throughout Southern California and was the principal flute for the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera.

She performs regularly with several chamber music groups, and as a soloist, and is currently the principal flute for the Valley Symphony Orchestra. She is also the Chair of the Wind Department at the Southern California Conservatory of Music, and is in demand as a master class teacher.

She will be accompanied by pianist Paul Switzer and cellist Jan Kelley.

The concert is free to members of the public and will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Commons on the College campus.
