
Thomas Aquinas College Ranked Among Top Colleges in U.S.

Aquinas Colleges high ranking in the 2003 edition of
U.S. News & World Report's "Best
Colleges" issue [usnews.com] marks yet another year
that the College has been found to be one of the best liberal
arts colleges in the U.S. Only four Catholic colleges were
ranked among the nations top 112 liberal arts colleges:
Thomas Aquinas College, College of the Holy Cross, College
of St. Benedict, and St. Johns University (MN).
After the Top 50 national liberal arts colleges, Thomas Aquinas
College was third in the area of SAT scores among incoming
freshmen (1170-1340; the SAT average for 2002-03 freshmen
is 1292), third in the percentage of full-time faculty (98%
- along with Reed College and Millsaps College), and nineteenth
in the category least debt incurred by graduates.
Moreover, the College was ranked sixth of all colleges nationwide
in the percentage of its classes under 20 students (93%) -
one of only three Catholic colleges to appear in the ranking
(the others, Mount St. Clare College, Iowa, and Seton Hill
College, Pennsylvania).
