Alumni and their families from throughout the region converged on campus Saturday for the Annual Alumni Day. The event began with Mass in Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, followed by brunch in St. Joseph Commons. In the afternoon, the College hosted two seminars — one for adults, on Pope Francis’s encyclical Lumen Fidei; and one for children, grades 6-12, on William Faulkner’s The Bear.

Families then headed down to one of the campus ponds for the 22nd Annual Cardboard Yacht Race, in which participants must construct — then board — vessels constructed of only cardboard and duct tape. After all dried off, the recreation continued with basketball, volleyball, and soccer tournaments on the campus athletic fields. Throughout the day, current students provided babysitting for alumni children and managed all the children’s events.

To conclude the festivities, that evening there was a celebratory barbeque, after which families left tired, but content, and already looking forward to next year’s reunion.
