The women of Thomas Aquinas College met on the campus fields Saturday morning for the annual “Powder Puff Bowl” — a friendly game of flag football, with their male classmates serving as coaches and referees. The two squads arrived early to warm up, while fans gathered and several students played music and told jokes over the loudspeakers.

At 10 a.m., the game started. The upperclassmen quickly scored the first touchdown, jumping out to an 8-0 lead. The underclassmen were able to hold on for most of the game, however, until the final two minutes. Then the upperclassmen scored two more touchdowns, building their lead to 22-0. The underclassmen tried to rally, scoring their first (and last) 6 points of the game, but it was too little, too late. The upperclassmen claimed the 2014 Powder Puff title with a final score of 22-6. A picnic lunch followed on the athletic field.
