58 ALUMNI PRIESTS!
June Brings Three More Ordinations
This summer five alumni of Thomas Aquinas College were ordained to the sacred priesthood, bringing to 58 the total number of alumni priests.
Following the two ordinations in May, there were three more in June. On the 15th, His Eminence Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, Archbishop of Vienna, laid hands on Rev. Joseph Bolin (’01), in Vienna’s Cathedral of St. Stephan. Eight days later, on June 23, His Excellency Paul J. Bradley, Bishop of Kalamazoo (Mich.), ordained Rev. Francis Marotti (’07) at St. Augustine Cathedral. That same day, some 4,500 miles away, the Most Rev. Cirilo B. Flores, Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of San Diego, conferred the Sacrament of Holy Orders upon Rev. Maximilian Okapal, O.Praem. (’02) at Mission Basilica in San Juan Capistrano, Calif.

Updates on Three Alumnae Sisters
On June 6, the Feast of St. Norbert, two alumnae of Thomas Aquinas College took their religious names and were vested in the habit of the Norbertine Canonesses at the Bethlehem Priory of St. Joseph in Tehachapi, Calif. Thus, by God’s grace, Alison Bright (’09) is now Sr. Mary Thomas, O. Praem. (after the College’s patron, St. Thomas Aquinas), and Annie Huguelet (’11) is now Sr. Mary Andre, O. Praem (after St. Andre Bessette).
Three weeks earlier, on May 17, Sr. Miriam Thérèse of the Holy Face, O.C.D. (Kelly Waldman ’07), made her solemn profession at the Carmel of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in Valparaiso, Neb. The Bishop of Lincoln, the Most Reverend Fabian Bruskewitz, offered Mass and received her final vows.

GOOD THINGS COME IN THREES
How Susan and Mike Murray Triple Their Gifts to Thomas Aquinas College
When Mike Murray retired from a 25-year career in management at ExxonMobil in 2006, he and his wife, Susan, were eager to support higher education in some way. It was an opportunity to do good that they could not pass up.
As an ExxonMobil retiree, Mr. Murray qualified for the company’s matching-gifts program, which will triple any gift he makes to an eligible institution of higher learning. For the Murrays, the program offered a simple way to maximize their giving. “My wife and I wanted somebody to be able to take advantage of the ExxonMobil matching program,” he says. To make their choice the couple reflected on the experiences of their son Sean, a graduate of the College.
