Two Commencements, Two Coasts

 
For the first time in its 50-year history, Thomas Aquinas College hosted graduations on two coasts this spring — the 48th annual Commencement in California and then, one week later, the first-ever Commencement in New England.

At the conclusion of the New England Commencement, Dr. Paul J. O’Reilly (’84) took the presidential Oath of Office, becoming the College’s first alumnus to assume its presidency.

Anna (Dunlap) and Dominic O’Reilly (both ’12)

The Chamber of Commerce in Santa Paula, California, has named Anna’s Cider — a local cidery founded by alumni entrepreneurs Anna (Dunlap) and Dominic O’Reilly (both ’12) — as its 2022 Business of the Year.

After graduating from TAC four years ago, Br. Francis Dominic (Don ’18) Nguyen, O.P., followed the footsteps of the College’s patron into the Order of Preachers. Four years later, he is still faithfully treading that path.

Dr. Glen Coughlin (‘81)

An alumnus of Thomas Aquinas College and a member of its California teaching faculty, Dr. Glen Coughlin (’81) has published a new translation of a work that has had a profound influence on his life and the life of the College — Aristotle’s De Anima.
