Sunday Mass

Between the hike and outdoor Mass and the volleyball tournament, barbecue, and Open Mic Night, the weekend has already been unforgettable for the students on this year’s California High School Summer Program. But there is still much more to come!

Students had their choice of two Solemn Masses this morning and, afterward, a delicious brunch was served in St. Joseph Commons. Afterward everyone grabbed their books and headed off to St. Bernardine of Siena Library to prepare for tomorrow’s classes. The upcoming week in the classroom is especially exciting, as attendees will be mastering Euclidean propositions and presenting them to their tutors and peers. The ancient geometer’s work holds a place of special importance in the Thomas Aquinas College curriculum, and freshmen spend the entire year studying and grappling with his magnum opus, The Elements.

At the end of study hall, students piled into buses for the hour-long drive to downtown Santa Barbara for an afternoon of sightseeing and dinner on the town. Be sure to check back tomorrow morning for photos and a full report!
