At the conclusion of Wednesday’s classes, students met up in St. Joseph Commons, where prefect Dan Selmeczy led the final dance class (although he’s offering an optional review tonight), preparing students for tomorrow’s farewell gala. As soon as the class ended, the group headed to the athletic field for a prefects vs. students soccer match.

Following Monday’s classes and an abbreviated recreation period, students took to the campus coffee shop, where Dr. John Nieto, a member of the College’s teaching faculty, presented his annual talk, “Art and Beauty.” Then came dinner, followed by an Admissions meeting, at which Admissions Director Jon Daly took questions from students about the College and its application process.

The students on the 2017 High School Summer Program no doubt slept well after an exciting and full Saturday night.

Having recovered from the afternoon’s spectacular — but arduous! — hike to Mugu Peak, the 2017 High School Summer Program students reassembled at 5:00 Saturday evening for a fabulous tri-trip BBQ dinner prepared by the prefects and grillmaster Tom Cavanaugh. After feasting on the steak, salad, and pumpernickel rolls, the group formed a procession, began praying the Rosary, and headed for the campus grotto, where they sang the Salve Regina for Our Lady.
