With the Class of 2024 nearing Commencement, members of the New England Class of 2026 recently took the opportunity to thank the seniors for their example and friendship at the annual Sophomore-Senior Brunch. After morning Mass on Sunday, seniors and sophomores headed down to the field in front of Dolben Library, for an outdoor feast. Tables were decorated with flowers from around campus, and the morning sun warmed the event’s cheery atmosphere. Before sitting down, seniors mingled with sophomores over coffee and orange juice, chatting about the curriculum and plans for the summer. Brunch consisted of deconstructed egg sandwiches: bagels, scrambled eggs, and bacon, accompanied by colorful platters of fruit at each table. Toward the end of the meal, as people refilled their coffee, the toasts began. Many students toasted both classes: Sophomores thanked seniors for their kindness and assistance, while seniors thanked sophomores for their enthusiasm and love for the TAC education. “I’d like to thank the Senior Class for your example,” said Duarte de Lima (‘26). “You all have stood as good beacons to follow throughout our time here, especially in fostering the spiritual life on campus.” The Sophomore-Senior brunch is the first of several commemorative events with which the College community sends off the graduating class. In their turn, the juniors, freshmen, and faculty will have the chance to thank the Class of 2023 for its contributions and wish its members well on future endeavors.
