A Thomas Aquinas College alumnus, Dr. Samuel Caughron (’96) earned his medical degree and completed his residency at Creighton University. He completed his fellowship at Vanderbilt and was the first board certified molecular genetic pathologist in the region.
Dr. Caughron joined MAWD Pathology Group in 2009 and was selected by its board to serve as president and chief executive officer in 2014. Under his leadership, MAWD has more than doubled in size and expanded to serve clients throughout the United States. Dr. Caughron sets the vision for the company and lays the groundwork for new client partnerships.
The Thomas Aquinas College Board of Governors elected Dr. Caughron to its ranks in 2025.
