Twice yearly during the Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years, each student sits with his tutors and hears their observations on his work. The primary aim of the Don Rag is not, like a report card, to state the degree of a student’s mastery of the material. It is, rather, an occasion for offering him specific advice on how to improve his class preparation and participation and to help him advance in the intellectual life.

Students Dance

The Junior Class was the last to host a dance for the newest members of Thomas Aquinas College, but its September 28 welcome was no less warm for being late in coming. Celebrating the freshmen’s arrival in California from across the country and abroad, the Junior Class threw a “Welcome to America”-themed dance.

The Sophomores of Thomas Aquinas College welcomed the freshmen to the West Coast campus on Saturday with a western hoedown. Without a barn on hand for their dance, the host class made do by decorating St. Gladys Hall Patio with wooden benches, paper lanterns, and bales of hay. Many of the dancers embraced the theme by donning flannel button downs, cowboy hats, and boots in homage to the American frontier.
