The Sophomores of Thomas Aquinas College welcomed the freshmen to the West Coast campus on Saturday with a western hoedown. Without a barn on hand for their dance, the host class made do by decorating St. Gladys Hall Patio with wooden benches, paper lanterns, and bales of hay. Many of the dancers embraced the theme by donning flannel button downs, cowboy hats, and boots in homage to the American frontier.

At the beginning of every academic year, each class at Thomas Aquinas College takes turns hosting a welcome dance for the new freshmen. The tradition gives the newcomers an opportunity to get to know the other classes and, of course, introduces them to a beloved TAC pastime: swing dancing! On Saturday, the Senior Class was the first to offer its welcome to the Class of 2028 with a circus-themed dance.

On Monday, Thomas Aquinas College, California, held its 54th annual Convocation, welcoming members of the Class of 2028. The formal start of the academic was marked by the usual the joy and excitement, as well as sorrow, as students mourned the loss of their would-be classmate John Kozak, who passed away only two days earlier.
