New England
In a newly published book, Dr. Michael Augros (’92), a tutor at Thomas Aquinas College, New England, brings a little-known, yet fundamental work of St. Thomas Aquinas to English readers — for the first time.
Whether coming to visit their children or to catch up with old friends, hundreds of members of the Thomas Aquinas College family traveled to the New England campus Saturday for fellowship, scholarship, and fun at Alumni & Parent Day.
Each year, the returning students at Thomas Aquinas College take turns welcoming the incoming freshmen with a special event. On Saturday, the seniors of TAC-New England got the ball rolling with a “Dancing in the Moonlight”-themed welcome dance.
In honor of the Feast of St. Augustine, as well as the renaming of Merrill-Keep Hall in his honor — the building’s residents hosted a celebratory barbeque last Saturday, inviting their friends in Wilson Hall to join them.
Last Friday afternoon the students of Thomas Aquinas College, New England, flocked to the lawn in front of St. Augustine Hall to celebrate the completion of the first week of classes. Prefects welcomed their fellow students with root-beer floats, and all shared their reflections on the beginning of the year.
“I think it’s been a good first week,” said freshman Teresa Bingham. “My favorite class has been Euclid, mostly because it’s cool to see how the definitions play into the props.”
