The March for Life will take place in Washington on Friday, January 22. The College’s D.C. Board of Regents will be there, carrying a Thomas Aquinas College banner. The group plans to meet in front of the California pillar at the World War II Memorial on the National Mall at noon. The March begins around 1:00 p.m. and is preceded by a rally.
Each year, when seniors read Russian novels as part of the seminar curriculum, Thomas Aquinas College’s Lithuanian librarian, Viltis Jatulis, hosts a soirée, like those portrayed in Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace. The centerpiece for these gatherings, which take place in the Library’s Fine Arts Room, is an elegant vessel — a century-old Russian samovar.

After four years of drought, some much-prayed-for rain is falling on Southern California today, including the campus of Thomas Aquinas College. Although students, away for Christmas Vacation, are not on hand to enjoy the downpour, the entire community celebrates this welcome change in weather. The College has struggled with escalating water bills, the threat of fire, and the challenge of maintaining a beautiful campus amid mandatory cuts in water usage.
The El Niño weather system appears to be God’s answer to many prayers for relief from the four-year drought that has parched Southern California. The Thomas Aquinas College campus has experienced a welcome deluge of rain this past week, resulting in a beautiful sight that has been all too rare for quite some time — snow in the surrounding mountains!
On Monday, attorneys from the Jones Day law firm, which is representing Thomas Aquinas College in its Supreme Court challenge of the HHS Contraceptive Mandate, submitted a 96-page brief outlining the College’s legal position.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Margaret Langley, who died on December 28, 2015, after a long illness. Mrs. Langley was a longtime friend of the College, the mother of 7 alumni, and the grandmother of 13 more.
