Since taking ownership, last May, of the former campus of a preparatory school in Northfield, Massachusetts, Thomas Aquinas College has amended its plan for the property. The College now  hopes to open a New England campus in August, 2019, contingent upon the approval of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education.

Dear students, parents, colleagues, and friends,

A heavy rainstorm, beginning this evening and continuing through Thursday, has been forecast for much of Southern California. Authorities warn that, because the Thomas Fire destroyed most of the vegetation in the Ventura County hillsides, this storm poses a significant risk of mudslides. Although Thomas Aquinas College is not seriously threatened, erosion could temporarily cut off access via Highway 150. Thus, as a precautionary measure, we will voluntarily undergo an evacuation, starting this evening.

On Wednesday, March 7, the alumni of Thomas Aquinas College — aided by the generosity of College Governor Berni Neal and her husband, Rob — helped to raise $38,500 for their alma mater.

The day marked the College’s first annual Alumni Day of Giving, held on the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas, according to the Church’s extraordinary calendar. To help get the occasion under way, Mr. and Mrs. Neal had pledged to match all alumni donations made to the College on that day, up to $10,000.
