Please pray for the repose of a dear friend and generous benefactor of the College, Kathleen Adell Burke. Miss Burke died Sunday evening, after receiving the Anointing of the Sick earlier in the day, at an Orange County hospital near her home in Los Alamitos, California.

Some much-needed rain fell in Southern California today — a blessing for the region, but a minor obstacle for some 260 Thomas Aquinas College students who will be heading to San Francisco tonight for the Walk for Life West Coast. Due to the weather and rush-hour traffic, the four buses that were supposed to pick up students at 3:45 this afternoon have been delayed until sometime later this evening.

Although best known throughout the world as the author of The Exorcist, William Peter Blatty, who passed away last Thursday, is remembered at Thomas Aquinas College as a dear friend and generous benefactor with a great love for Catholic liberal education. “Bill had a deep faith, which manifested itself both in his work and in his support of the College,” says President Michael F. McLean. “He was keenly aware of the spiritual warfare that surrounds us, as well as its eternal implications for each of our souls.”

By the main door of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, the chaplains of Thomas Aquinas College maintain a collections box marked “for the missions,” the proceeds of which go to the Missionaries of Charity in Nairobi, Kenya, under the care of Rev. Many of the dear friends who have given generously to Thomas Aquinas College and its students over the last year gathered in downtown Los Angeles on December 4 for the annual Christmas Dinner. There they enjoyed excellent food, fine music, and good company.
