On Friday evening, groups of about 20 Thomas Aquinas College students from all classes — seniors and freshmen, sophomores and juniors — gathered in classrooms on both coasts for the All-College Seminar.

Last Saturday the College’s Office of Career Advisement hosted a Career Strategies Workshop for students on the California campus, who participated in person, and for New England students, who took part via video teleconference. “The goal of today is to give you a broad and overarching look at the process of discerning a career,” Director of Student Services Scott Benigar told students on both coasts. “That includes finding which job is for you, putting together a résumé and cover letter, and the interview process.”

On Saturday a group of some 20 students from Thomas Aquinas College, New England, and recent alumni took an evening ski/snowboarding trip to the Berkshire East Ski Resort in Charlemont, Massachusetts. Photos are available in the slideshow below:

The outing was the brainchild of sophomore Jean Guerreiro, who was looking for a fun way to celebrate his birthday the next day. Happy  birthday, Jean!

Another beloved Thomas Aquinas College tradition has been replicated and adapted for the College’s newly opened campus in Northfield, Massachusetts: the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas. On Monday, January 28, students and faculty on both coasts celebrated the occasion with a fitting combination of prayer, scholarship, and fun.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Robert F. Richard, who died on January 15. Mr. Richard is the grandfather of nine Thomas Aquinas College alumni and current students: John  (’13), Robert (’13), Carmel (’15), Demi (’15), Jeannette (’17), Elizabeth (’18), Robert (’21), Thomas (’23), and Domenic (’23).  Please also pray for the consolation of his wife, Carmel, and their family.

On Saturday evening the students and faculty families of Thomas Aquinas College, New England, gathered in Olivia Music Hall for the first-ever Epiphany Dance, hosted by the Sophomore Class.

A fresh snowfall adorned the campus outside, complementing the dance’s theme of “Winter Wonderland.” Festivities began with an Epiphany Blessing from Chaplain Rev. Father Markey, followed by a performance of “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas” by Tilly Cecchi (’22) and Paul Dinan (’23), then carols around the crèche.

The Most Rev. Thomas John Paprocki, Bishop of Springfield in Illinois, has accepted President Michael F. McLean’s invitation to serve as Thomas Aquinas College’s 2020 Commencement Speaker.
