On Friday night, the College hosted the inaugural concert of this year’s St. Vincent DePaul Lecture and Concert Series. Members of the Symbiosis Ensemble played music by Bach, Haydn, and Mozart in St. Joseph Commons. After the concert, the annual Students vs. Tutors game of Trivial Pursuit took place in the Dumb Ox Café.

On September 15, the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, Chaplain Rev. Raymond Perez, O.Praem., led students in a Rosary procession around the campus. The group began outside St. Joseph Commons and processed down to the Lourdes Grotto on the lower campus, then concluded with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel.

On Friday night, tutor Phillip D. Wodzinski hosted a screening of Wagner’s Dream, a documentary about the debut of the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle, in the student lounge. A discussion followed the viewing, after which students retired to the coffee shop for iced drinks and board games:

On Saturday, despite the heat of the Indian Summer, a group of hearty students took to the sand volleyball courts to get in some practice.

In the first of its year-long series of career events, the Office of Career Advisement sponsored a talk on Sunday from two young professionals who shared their wisdom about finding work and fulfillment in the world of business and finance.

On Monday, August 24, 2015, some 103 students from across the country and abroad matriculated as freshmen at Thomas Aquinas College — the Class of 2019.

Each fall the sophomores, juniors, and seniors take turns hosting welcome events for the new freshman class. This past weekend the sophomores got the ball rolling, throwing a “Back to the Future” dance on the campus tennis court, complete with an “Enchantment Under the Sea” banner and Doc Brown’s silver DeLorean. In keeping with the theme, the freshmen dressed in 1950s style, while the sophomores wore their 1980s best.

On Saturday members of the College community gathered on the athletic fields for the annual All-College Picnic. The afternoon began with an inter-class tug-of-war, followed by a refreshing dive on a make-shift slip-n-slide.
