As the first of many farewells and good wishes to the Thomas Aquinas College, California, Class of 2026, the sophomores paid their homage with a Sunday morning Sophomore–Senior Brunch. Dressed up in shades of blues, students came from the nine o’clock Mass to St. Gladys Patio, which sophomores had arrayed with flowers, red gingham tablecloths, and hand-painted watercolor place cards.

Students mingled, sipping their hot coffee and hand-squeezed orange juice, until each table went through the buffet line. The sophomores served a delicious meal of quiche, beignets, and fresh fruit; the homemade lavender syrup at the coffee bar was quite the crowd-pleaser.

When plates had cleared, sophomores and seniors queued up to toast their friends. Students raised their glasses to siblings, role models, and friends in the Sophomore and Senior Classes, reminisced on shared memories, and wished each other well on their future endeavors. As the party drew to a close, there was one last farewell toast in store: gathering as one, sophomores sang “The Parting Glass,” a traditional Irish folk song. The morning ended with wistful tears and smiles as the Class of 2028 melodiously bade their beloved seniors, “Goodnight, and joy be with you all.”
