Bidding farewell to the graduating seniors before their final week at the College, the New England Sophomore Class hosted a charming brunch for the two classes on Sunday.

After morning Mass, the seniors made their way to Olivia Music Hall, where the sophomores waited at the doors to welcome them. It was the perfect spring day, with the main room warmly lit by sunlight streaming in through the tall windows. Pastel garlands and fresh flowers brought the brightness of the season into the room, while tables were loaded with homemade quiche and baked goods.

Seniors enjoy brunch

Once everyone sat at the tables and said grace, the meal began. The room was quickly filled with the hum of conversation, the clinking of coffee cups, and the soft strains of Vivaldi in the background. Every 15 minutes, sophomores made the rounds with French-pressed hot coffee, refilling cups and chatting with friends along the way.

As the brunch drew to a close, members of both classes took turns toasting friends, siblings and the classes as a whole. Teresa Bingham (’26), saluting the Class of 2028, said, “You all have taught me so many lessons, especially that of love. Your class is very generous with your talents and with your time. I have felt so very loved by all of you and am so excited to see what you continue to do at this school.”

A sophomore gives a toast

Following Miss Bingham, Vitor Satcheki Neto (’28) rose to toast the seniors in kind. “I like to think of TAC as a battle in some ways, and you all have fought a great battle,” he said. “The way that you have gone through your years here has been admirable and beautiful: You have a fearless class with so much to teach all of us. Now that you are leaving, a poem that I love comes to mind. It says that any fight is worth it and everything is worth it when the soul is not small — and you are all great of soul.”
