Dear Fellow TAC Parents,

Thanks to your great generosity, the 2023 Thomas Aquinas College Parent Day of Giving has been a tremendous success. We TAC parents exceeded our $300,000 goal for the day, having contributed $306,023, with some late gifts still arriving. (It’s not too late: If you still want to contribute to this years’ Parent Day of Giving, make your gift now!)

We are profoundly grateful to the two anonymous parents who got the day off to a strong start with a $100,000 matching gift in honor of St. Joseph, as well as to Martha and Tim Reichert — parents of Meghan (’18) and Nancy (’23) — whose $50,000 matching gift kept our momentum going all the way to the end. And we are especially grateful to St. Joseph the Worker, who graciously shares his feast day with our team of parents who try to follow his lead as provider, nurturer, and protector.

Throughout the day, we delighted in seeing photos of the loved ones to whom many of you dedicated your gifts:

Gift in honor of Dr. Kathryn Duda and the Class of 2023
Gift in honor of Brandon Ristoff's ('17) Grandparents
Gift in honor of Luke M. Hernandez, Class of 2023

These faces are a joyous reminder of why the College exists and why we, as grateful parents, feel a certain duty to support it, above and beyond our years of tuition payments. Through their Catholic liberal education, the College’s students — our children and grandchildren— receive a gift beyond all measure: the joy that comes from deepening one’s love, knowledge, and service of Our Lord.

Few colleges dare to make that claim, or even to strive for that goal, anymore. Yet we have been blessed to find one school that does, and as parents — as providers, nurturers, and protectors, like St. Joseph — we are committed to its preservation and flourishing.

That commitment was on full display yesterday, with parents and grandparents of students and alumni making sacrificial gifts all day long. Your generosity is a wonderful affirmation for our students of the nobility and goodness of their own sacrifices and efforts. Thank you for supporting them, yet again, in so many ways. (And if you care to make a last-minute gift, there’s still time!)

St. Joseph the Worker, pray for us!

Sincerely,
