With great joy, Thomas Aquinas College, California, began its 52nd academic year on Monday — first, in prayer, at the Convocation Mass of the Holy Spirit, and then by welcoming new faculty and students at the ensuing matriculation ceremony.
Thursday marked the first full day on campus for the newly arrived freshmen.
In the final days of the spring semester, the Thomas Aquinas College California Choir and Orchestra performed Gilbert and Sullivan’s 1879 comedic opera, The Pirates of Penzance, before a full house in St. Cecilia Hall. Under the direction of Dan Grimm (’76), the production was part of the 2021-22 St. Vincent de Paul Lecture and Concert Series, endowed by Barbara and Paul Henkels.
On Wednesday, August 17, the members of the Class of 2026, together with family and friends, began to arrive in the midmorning. The new students poured out of minivans, sedans, and the like, greeted by friendly prefects and Admissions staff.
