One week after their peers in New England, the College’s California students gathered in the Dumb Ox Café last Wednesday to carve pumpkins in preparation for the Halloween dance:

As we approach the feast of All Saints and All Souls, please pray for the repose of the soul of Maria Fairman, wife of Michael Fairman ('87). Maria was called home to God on Tuesday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Please also pray for consolation for Michael and their families.

Eternal rest, grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

Students on the College’s new campus in Northfield, Massachusetts, held  an outdoor social last Friday complete with scarves, cider, and donuts. With the campus aglow in fall foliage, some couldn’t resist the urge to jump into the large, freshly raked piles of bright leaves. They are making the most of the New England autumn!

One year ago, Thomas Aquinas College tutor Dr. Travis Cooper and his wife, Briena (Dunkel ’06), requested prayers, for their then 8-year-old son, Damian. Those prayers, made through the intercession of Venerable Mother Luisita, foundress of the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles, have borne tremendous fruit. Damian’s surgery and treatment for the bone cancer in his leg have been successful. He is now in remission and cancer free!

There was much joy and excitement on both campuses of Thomas Aquinas College on October 13, when His Holiness Pope Francis canonized St. John Henry Newman — making the 19th century British theologian, cardinal, and convert the newest canonized saint in the College’s classical curriculum.
