On Sunday the College’s Office of Career Advisement sponsored a talk and Q&A for students who are considering a career in engineering. Leading the discussion were two local engineers — one civil, one mechanical, with extensive civilian and military experience — who shared their wisdom about how best to apply the benefits of a Catholic liberal education in the marketplace.

At last May’s Commencement exercises, Thomas Aquinas College honored Viltis Jatulis, who was stepping down after 45 years as head librarian and reducing her work hours to part-time. Upon learning of Mrs. Jatulis’ semi-retirement, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has now also recognized her faithful service, issuing a formal proclamation that reads:

In the most recent installment of the monthly Dorm Talk Series she sponsors in St. Bernard Hall, Resident Assistant Sarah Dufresne (’14) presented a talk on a subject of increasing importance as students approach Thanksgiving and Christmas vacations — leisure.

On a recent weekend some 150 Thomas Aquinas College students traveled 200 miles northeast to Kennedy Meadows, in the Southern portion of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, for a men’s campout. Organized by recent graduate Ben Coughlin (’15), the expedition included several tutors and staff members, as well as Head Chaplain Rev. Paul Raftery, O.P., who offered Mass for the group on Sunday morning. Photos are available in the slideshow below:
