Why We Study Kierkegaard

During the last days of classes before final examinations, 17 Thomas Aquinas College juniors gathered in the rotunda of St. Thomas Hall to sing four hymns. The brief performance marked the latest chapter in a young but increasingly anticipated campus tradition.

Having prevailed in its federal lawsuit against the Obama Administration, Thomas Aquinas College has received a permanent injunction against the HHS Contraceptive Mandate. As a result, the College is exempt from the requirement to offer abortifacient and contraceptive coverage to its employees, and may continue providing comprehensive health insurance in accordance with Catholic teaching. The government has until February 18 to appeal the ruling.

On Saturday, December 7, the students of Thomas Aquinas College hosted a formal Christmas dance, transforming St. Joseph Commons into Pine Tree, Vermont, circa 1954, in keeping with the evening’s White Christmas theme.

As is custom at the College, a large portion of the evening was dedicated to student-produced entertainment, with songs, skits, and a cameo appearance from College Chaplain Rev. Cornelius M. Buckley, S.J.
