The planet of Mercury glided across the face of the sun Monday morning, providing a spectacular view for students on Thomas Aquinas College’s California campus. From a balcony in St. Thomas Hall, dozens watched through a telescope, outfitted with a solar filter, that was the gift of a new friend and benefactor of the College, Mr. Paul Dougherty.

“It has been very heartening to see how many people have been willing to sacrifice for the good of Thomas Aquinas College, for our students, and for the spiritual life of our new campus,” says Rev. Greg Markey. “We are grateful to God, to all who have given, and to all who are still giving.”

As we approach the feast of All Saints and All Souls, please pray for the repose of the soul of Maria Fairman, wife of Michael Fairman ('87). Maria was called home to God on Tuesday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Please also pray for consolation for Michael and their families.

Eternal rest, grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
