The students of Thomas Aquinas College, New England, gathered in the Bl. Frassati Student Center last Friday for a concert by the Madison String Quartet.

Following up on last fall’s concert, the quartet was joined by a French horn player. The musicians performed a horn quintet piece by Mozart, followed by Beethoven’s first quartet sonata. After delighted applause from the audience, the group played Danzon No. 2 by Arturo Marquez as an encore, exciting the crowd with its rousing dynamics.

Students attend the conference in formal attire, in keeping with the nature of the stunning classical performance — and drawing the attention of the musicians. Between performances, one member of the quartet remarked that, out of all the places in the world that they had performed, Thomas Aquinas College’s students were the best-dressed!
