Today marks the beginning of the two-week California High School Summer Program, where students will get a firsthand experience of the spiritual, intellectual, and community life of Thomas Aquinas College!
Attendees have come from all over the U.S. and seven other countries, some hailing from as far as New Zealand and Slovenia. While many students and families arrived by car, others flew into Los Angeles International Airport, where they were met by program prefects. With buses waiting to take them to the campus, the students took advantage of the opportunity to meet each other on the way, while enjoying a scenic view of the TopaTopa Mountains. The prefects, who are current TAC students and recent alumni, were happy to welcome everyone to the College.

After much preparation, the prefects are very eager to begin this year’s Summer Program and welcome the programmers. “I’m really excited to work with all the students for the next two weeks,” said men’s Head Prefect Anthony Santine (‘25). The students are also looking forward to the program, which they will spend learning, playing, and praying with their fellow attendees.
Still ahead: Students and families will gather for a campus tour, opening barbeque, and orientation meetings before diving into tomorrow’s first day of classes. A recap of this evening's events, along with photos, will be posted tomorrow morning here on the Summer Program Blog. Be sure to come back for twice-daily updates on the student’s activities!
