Officials from JSerra Catholic High School in Orange County recently visited Thomas Aquinas College, California, to recruit future teachers. Speaking to students gathered in St. Cecilia Hall, Vice President of Admissions and Engagement Chris Harrington and Vice President of Mission and Faith Patrick Reidy discussed the benefits of teaching at JSerra — and what TAC graduates, in particular, can bring to the school.

One Friday evening each semester, groups of about 20 Thomas Aquinas College students from all classes — seniors and freshmen, sophomores and juniors — gather in classrooms across their campus for the All-College Seminar. Although separate, these groups engage in a single, common activity, namely, reading, analyzing, and discussing the same text, one that is not part of the College’s ordinary curriculum. Two members of the teaching faculty lead each of the discussions.

Having already welcomed the freshmen at ’70s-themed dance, the seniors further extended their hospitality with a trip to the beach on Saturday. After lunch, vans dispatched from campus to Rincon Beach in Carpinteria, where students promptly staked their spots with towels, coolers, and games.

Following the Seniors’ welcome of the Freshman Class two weeks ago, the California Junior Class took its turn hosting a dance for the Class of 2026 last Saturday night. Hours of hard work came to fruition as Juniors set up a “movie night sleepover”-themed event in St. Joseph Commons.

Following last Friday’s Macnickas family concert in St. Cecilia Hall, students and tutors came to intellectual blows in their annual, friendly bout of Trivial Pursuit. On one end of the St. Cecilia Hall recreation room, a team of tutors sat at a line of tables with Trivial Pursuit “pies” (to mark progress toward victory) displayed on the wall behind them. Before them sat students on couches, benches, and the floor — each side determined to claim victory.
