New England
According to the Catholic Church’s General Norms for the Liturgical Year and Calendar, the anniversary of the dedication of a church is to be celebrated as a solemnity by the members of the community in which it exists. As such, March 7 is doubly significant at Thomas Aquinas College, New England, for it marks the date of the death of the College’s patron, St. Thomas Aquinas, in 1274, as well as the Dedication of Our Mother of the Perpetual Help Chapel in 2022.
Embracing their Celtic spirit, students on the New England campus filled Tracy Student Center with Céilí dancing and Gaelic music this past Saturday evening for an early celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Blanketed in garlands and imbued with shamrocks, Tracy Student Center was transformed into a verdant wonderland where students performed traditional Irish compositions with much élan and sparkle.

Still rejoicing from the Dedication of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel earlier that day, New England students continued their celebration of Thomas Aquinas College’s patron last Monday night with a beloved TAC tradition: Trivial and Quadrivial Pursuits.
On the first Friday of Lent, students on the New England campus spent their evening reflecting on the mystery of Our Lord’s passion and His resurrection.

Byrne, Bishop of Springfield, at Monday’s Dedication Mass for Thomas Aquinas College’s New England chapel. “Winter makes way to summer. Days lengthen, and life prevails.”
