When Thomas Aquinas College acquired the century-old, former site of a New England preparatory school in 2017, it inherited a chapel that was all but perfect for its new campus — grand, beautiful, historic and spacious — save for one important exception: Constructed in 1909 for a school founded by the charismatic evangelist Dwight L. Moody, Russell Sage Chapel was designed for Protestant worship and, as such, lacked many of the essentials for Catholic liturgy.

For many years Madalene Baird has wanted to hike in the Los Padres National Forest, just outside the California campus of Thomas Aquinas College, to see for herself the place where her sister Angela (’00) died in 1997. Last week, she finally got the opportunity.

Please say a prayer for Lawrence M. Reilley, a member of the Thomas Aquinas College’s Los Angeles & Ventura Board of Regents. Mr. Reilley passed away peacefully at his home in Oak View, California, on October 25. Please pray also for the consolation of his family.

When the American Catholic Philosophical Association (ACPA) gathers virtually for its 2020 conference this weekend, it will honor a member of the Thomas Aquinas College teaching faculty, Dr. Michael Rubin.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Mary Daly, who died early Saturday, the Feast of the Presentation of Mary. Mrs. Daly was the mother of Admissions Director Jon (’99), Ruth (Slack ’02), and Becky (Pfundstein ’05), as well as the grandmother of Brendan (’24). Please also pray for the consolation of the Daly family.
