On Saturday, June 11, Thomas Aquinas College hosted the annual Legatus-Aquinas Forum. Some 15 members of the Ventura-North Los Angeles Chapters of Legatus, the international organization of Catholic business executives, participated in the event, which took place on campus.

The day began in Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, where College Chaplain Rev. Cornelius M. Buckley, S.J., offered Mass. Recent graduate Sean Donnelly (’16) assisted Fr. Buckley at the altar as an acolyte, and student Giorgio Navarini (’17) served as the cantor and organist.

“When his fellow founders chose Dr. Ronald P. McArthur as the College’s first president, they made him and his wife, Marilyn, intellectual and spiritual parents to the students of Thomas Aquinas College,” says current President Michael F. McLean. “Ron and Marilyn believed that the Faith must be handed on through more than just books: it must be lived in a community. They sought not only to form students’ minds, but also to foster deep and genuine friendships based on the love of truth.”

After the last vehicle rolls off the Thomas Aquinas College campus following Commencement; when the residence halls, once teeming with students, grow quiet; when silence briefly replaces Socratic discourse in the classroom buildings, it may seem as though the intellectual life of the College has slipped into a summer’s hibernation.
