Members of the Sophomore Class have helped to revive a longstanding campus tradition, the Family Rosary. Every night at 9:15, students join Head Chaplain Rev. Joseph Illo in Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel to pray for the entire Thomas Aquinas College “family” and its members’ intentions.

Last night, however, on the 12th anniversary of 9-11, students prayed for the wellbeing of their country in what was billed as a “Rosary for the Nation.” They prayed for the victims of 9-11, for the future of the United States, and for peace in our world.

Parnassus, stepped forward to make a magnificent gift. He would pay for the construction and installation of the massive bronze doors that stand at the Chapel’s main entrance.

With freshmen arriving for Orientation, Thomas Aquinas College is preparing for the start of the new academic year, which will officially begin with Convocation on Monday. As part of the preparation, workers are putting the finishing touches on St. Augustine Hall, which underwent a substantial renovation over the summer thanks to principal funding from the E. L. Wiegand Foundation of Reno, Nevada, and a generous gift from College Governor Dieter Huckestein and his wife, Cecilia.
