Each July, Thomas Aquinas College invites members of the President’s Council — the backbone of the College’s financial-aid fund — to one of two Great Books Summer Seminar Weekends. At these weekends President’s Council members get an inside look at the unique education that they so generously help to make possible. They attend a series of classroom discussions about great books led by the College’s president, dean, and other senior members of the teaching faculty.

With students away for the summer recess, Thomas Aquinas College has begun work on its next classroom building, St. Gladys Hall, as well as the renovation of its first classroom building, St. Augustine Hall.

On Friday nights throughout the 2013-14 academic year, the students of Thomas Aquinas College will have the privilege of attending lectures from some of the nation’s most distinguished scholars — covering a wide range of topics from evolution to natural law to Thomistic theology — through the St. Vincent de Paul Lecture and Concert Series.

Buckley, S.J., was recently asked to offer a Mass for the annual installation ceremony of the Adolfo Camarillo Council of the Knights of Columbus. The College mourns the passing of Elena Grant Cahir, daughter of College Governor Maria and Richard Grant. A young mother and educator, Mrs. Cahir died on Saturday, June 22, following a lengthy struggle against cancer. She is survived by her husband, Michael, and daughter, Carol.
