Freshmen on both campuses wished the Class of 2025 farewell this past week with sweet treats and casual camaraderie at the Senior-Freshman Snack Night.

In New England, senior Agnes Umana (NE’25) and freshman Emily Runyan (NE’28) cooked up golden brown waffles as students began to arrive at Bl. Frassati Student Center on Wednesday night. “I had an absolutely amazing time at Snack Night my freshman year,” Agnes said. “My favorite part was dancing with all my senior and freshman friends.”

Once the waffles were ready, everyone loaded them up with ice cream, sprinkles, and whipped cream to make delectable waffle sundaes. “It’s such a good combination because it’s like eating a waffle cone, except warm and fluffy!” said Terese Wilder (NE’28). “Waffles should never be limited solely to breakfast.”

Students munched, mingled and made the most of their post-curfew party. Some danced, some chatted, and some played games with their friends. “I can’t believe how soon graduation is,” said Julianna Bafundo (NE’25). “I’m glad we have so many opportunities to make memories before then!”

A few days later, amid Sunday night preparations for a busy week of finals, the freshman and seniors in California took a break from studying for their own snack night. This year, despite both classes having a final the next morning, study groups were disbanded and piles of books left behind for an hour of light-hearted, laid-back fun between two classes reluctant for their time together to end. The freshmen played music and served ice cream and cupcakes in the Dumb Ox Café, where seniors and freshmen alike fueled up on sugar, laughter, and conversation — the perfect refreshments before returning to their studies.
