Rose Anderson and Patrick Daly
Head prefects Rose Anderson and Patrick Daly (both CA’26)

Even though the first California Great Books Summer Program concluded one week ago — and the New England program is now nearing its own completion — more TAC high school summer fun is on its way, with the one-week program set to begin on Sunday!

In anticipation of that great event, we are excited to introduce the men and women who will serve as its prefects! Leading the way are Patrick Daly and Rose Anderson (both CA’26), who both served as prefects for the two-week program and will now step up as head prefects for the men and women, respectively.

Basil Gutch (CA’28)Joining them is Basil Gutch (CA’28), who took a gap year after finishing high school to travel the United States. During his journey on the West Coast, he stayed on the California campus with a friend for a week. While there, he decided to sit in on some classes and was blown away by the questions brought to the table. “I was on the edge about going until I opened an admissions pamphlet, and it said on the top, ‘The truth will set you free,’” he says. “I had been traveling to find freedom, and there was the real recipe: I need to be free. Then and there, I decided to send in an application so that I could learn the truth to be free.”

Basil is a newcomer to the Summer Program and looks forward to experiencing it along with attendees. “I’ve never heard a single person say they regret going to the Summer Program, even if they didn’t end up going to TAC,” he says. “I hope to show all the high schoolers a glimpse of the paradise we live in, both physically, but also mentally and spiritually.”

We also have 13 other prefects returning from the two-week program, whose introductions you can find by following the links below:

The one-week Summer Program will be here soon, and we will have regular updates here on the Summer Blog!
