Bringing the joy of Advent and the promise of Christmas into the marketplace, some 150 Thomas Aquinas College students descended on Ventura’s Pacific View Mall on the first Saturday of December to stage a choral “flash mob.”

Many of the dear friends who have given generously to Thomas Aquinas College and its students over the years gathered in downtown Los Angeles on December 6 for the annual Christmas Dinner. There they enjoyed excellent food, fine music, and good company.

Dr. Dillon and Sir DanielThomas Aquinas College mourns the death of a dear friend who was one of its earliest and most generous benefactors, Sir Daniel J. Donohue, who died on December 3.

Three years after its launch in 2011, the Thomas Aquinas College website has received a prestigious Interactive Media Award for Outstanding Achievement. Created by the Interactive Media Council (IMC), the Interactive Media Awards exist “to recognize the highest standards of excellence in website design and development.”

On Saturday, November 22, Thomas Aquinas College’s Orange County Board of Regents hosted a seminar and reception for friends of the College, both new and old, at the Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. Some 50 participants, including alumni, parents of current students, and other guests, met in the Cathedral’s Cultural Center to discuss the day’s theme, “The Wisdom of Genesis.”

“Given our commitment to the Catholic faith, and given our desire to really model and testify to that commitment to our students and our broader community, we decided to oppose the HHS Mandate and to do whatever we could within the legal system to combat it,” said Thomas Aquinas College President Michael F. McLean on a recent radio interview.

Longtime Friends of the College J. R. and Claire Smeed
Donate $1 Million for Financial Aid

 

When Thomas Aquinas College began its new fiscal year in July, officials received some delightful news: J. R. and Claire Smeed of Bakersfield, California, were making an extraordinary gift of $1 million to assist the College with its financial aid needs for the academic year.
