On Sunday evening President Michael F. McLean hosted California students, faculty, staff, and their families at an all-College Thanksgiving dinner.

To begin the celebration, Head Chaplain Rev. Paul Raftery, O.P., offered an invocation, and senior Max Tittmann led the community in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Tutor John Baer then read President Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation from 1863, followed by remarks from President Michael F. McLean, music by the student choral group Chrysostomos, and, of course, turkey and all the fixings.

As part of the occasion, Dr. McLean and Dean John J. Goyette honored the services of three dedicated members of the faculty who are celebrating milestone anniversaries in their service to the College: Tutors Karen Zedlick (30 years), John Baer (20 years), and Brian Dragoo (20 years).

“As we celebrate this Thanksgiving holiday, we should be joyful about the good health of the College and grateful for its 50 years of accomplishment,” said Dr. McLean in his address. “Confident in God’s abiding providence, we look forward with great anticipation to another 50 years of Thomas Aquinas College playing a leading role in Catholic education, witnessing to the Gospel, remaining faithful to the teachings of the Church, and preparing students for responsible citizenship.”
