Prefects at the welcome table

This afternoon marked the beginning of the 2026 California High School Great Books Program. Students have traveled across the globe to be here, with some coming from as far away as New Zealand and Italy! Throughout the afternoon, buses and cars full of excited students and family members rolled through the St. Thérèse Residence Hall Parking Lot, where programmers experienced their first glimpse of the beautiful campus and exchanged warm introductions with a welcoming committee of current TAC students and Alumni.

Upon arrival, students received name tags and rooming assignments, then headed up to their respective residence halls — St. Monica’s for the ladies, Sts. Peter and Paul for the gentlemen — where they began to settle in and meet their roommates. Some chatted in the common room over burgers and fries, while others unpacked and rested in preparation for the day ahead.

Meanwhile, parents and siblings enjoyed tours of the campus and its facilities, including St. Bernardine of Siena Library, the Pope St. John Paul II Athletic Center, and, of course, the Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel — places where students will spend much of their time over the upcoming weeks.

The first night of the program will feature a family barbeque, orientation, and introductions in St. Cecelia’s Hall, plus gatherings in the residence halls to end the night. Check back in with the Summer Program Blog tomorrow morning for a report on the evening’s events!!
